"Transformers Road Show" a Scientific competition arranged by Islamic Developmental Bank (IsDB) on 8th September, 2018 (Radisson Blu, Dhaka)

The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) are delighted to launch a new science, technology and innovation competition, as part of its growing presence in Bangaldesh.

The “Transformers Roadshow”, will take place on Saturday 8th September at the Radisson Blu hotel in Dhaka.

Innovators from across the region are invited to pitch their ideas that support one or more of the Sustainable 
Development Goals to a high-level panel of experts, with three winners being awarded $3,000. They will also have the opportunity to benefit from a day of masterclasses and mentoring.

The top three winners will be celebrated at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Development Bank Bangladesh Hub on 9th September. The financial awards will be presented by Her Excellency Sheikh Hasina, Prime Minister of Bangladesh, His Excellency Dr. Bandar Hajjar, President of the Islamic Development Bank.

The IsDB is committed to putting STI at the heart of its work as it tries to tackle today’s most pressing
development challenges. The event’s aim is to accelerate STI-led development initiatives across IsDB
Member Countries, by identifying entrepreneurs and innovators who are looking for funding, partners, new
business opportunities or strategic advice, and connecting them to investors, influencers, mentors and
business partners.

We are looking for students, scientists, technologists and innovators to come together with government
leaders, captains of industry, entrepreneurs, business leaders and academics.

Applicants’ ideas should demonstrate their support for the Sustainable Development Goals.

The event will provide a unique opportunity to develop new partnerships with key private companies,governments and NGOs, and strengthen existing ones; it will help to strengthen networking and foster strategic alliances through the idea and knowledge sharing.
