Dhaka 31st March, 2015. GNOBB takes this opportunity to express its best wishes and heartiest congratulations to the following  four newly appointed staff members, namely, Dr. Tahmina Islam, Kishwar Jahan Sethi, Nadra Tabassum and Tahsin Khan in the Department of Botany, DU. We expect that all of them will work very hard and conscientiously and gladly take up the teaching responsibility in any branch of Botany irrespective of their field of specialization to help the department march forward to a new height of glory. Let the GNOBB Coordinator inform the new appointees that when he was appointed a Lecturer in this department in 1948 i.e., 65 years ago, he was entrusted to deliver lectures in Pteridopyhtes, Gymnosperms, embryology although his special field was cytogenetics. In spite of his teaching load as a lecturer, he along with his student, Late Mr. Abdul Baten published a paper in Nature on the cytology of Cyanotis , a commonly occurring member of the Commelinaceae family.
