Professor Zeba I. Seraj, at  the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka has received the prestigious Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research(PEER) science grant funded by USAID and NSF. The project title of the grant is “Validation of salt tolerance determinants in rice (Oryza sativa L. indica) landrace Horkuch and its segregating population by 2b-RAD sequencing and RNA-seq analysis under stress”. Professor Zeba will act as the Principal Investigator (PI) for the project while Professor Thomas Juenger U T Austin will be her US partner. The project will provide  young researchers from Plant Biotechnology Lab, DU an opportunity to visit Juenger’s lab at the University of Texas (UT), Austin and to get a hands on experience on 2b-RAD sequencing and RNA-seq analysis.
