The Biochemistry Olympiad has just completed its seventh year of successful journey. On March 19th, 2016 BRAC Bank 7th Biochemistry Olympiad took place in Curzon Hall, Dhaka University. This year the Olympiad has been organized jointly by the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, University of Dhaka and the BRAC bank.  Each year a day long activity is arranged in two separate groups: for students in SSC/O level and HSC/A level. This year about 67 educational institutes from all over the country participated in the Olympiad with active participation of 548 students. In SSC/O level International Turkish Hope School and in HSC/A level Maple Leaf International School became the champion in quiz competition. The Olympiad also featured an exciting      bio-park poster presentation prepared by honors level students. The other striking features were: a number of popular lectures and interaction sessions.  The Olympiad concluded with the award ceremony.

The exciting program was inaugurated by Prof. A A M S Arefin Siddique,  the Vice- Chancellor of Dhaka University. Prof. Dr. Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, the Vice-Chancellor of Asia Pacific University and the Olympiad, Mr. Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid, the Deputy Managing Director, BRAC Bank Limited also graced the occasion as invited guests.  They addressed the Olympiad with their valuable impression. Arrangement of vibrant and youthful events like the Biochemistry Olympiad will make the young generation interested in  the multifaceted bioscience in which research with an enduring impact is being carried out all over the world.
