Good viruses defend gut when bacteria are wiped out

Dhaka 25, ’14. In a short article by Helen Thomson, published on the 19 November issue of Nature the authors have shown that in the absence of good bacteria in the gut, some taxa of virus take their place
in order to fight the disease leading to the recovery of the patient from said illness. The news is exciting because so long the notion was that viruses cause diseases and not cure them.
