1st "Biotech Schooling" Organized by GNOBB in Kushtia!

The Global Network of Bangladeshi Biotechnologists (GNOBB) successfully organized "Biotech Schooling-2025" at Adarsha Secondary School in Kushtia. The event took place on Thursday, from 10 AM to 1 PM, with overall support from members of the Network of Young Biotechnologists of Bangladesh (NYBB) Islamic University Chapter.

The program began with a science exhibition for students, featuring models of bacteria, viruses, amoebas, and other microorganisms. Students also had the opportunity to observe microorganisms under a microscope and explore various aspects of biotechnology, such as tissue culture. Additionally, posters were displayed on topics like antibiotic awareness, gene cloning, tissue culture, soil-less farming, and waste management, generating significant enthusiasm among the students.

Following the exhibition, a quiz competition on biotechnology was held, with around 500 students participating. Among them, the top three winners received certificates and crests, while the top 40 performers were selected for a special visit to the specialized research laboratories of the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Department at Islamic University, Kushtia. The keynote speaker at the event was Dr. Md. Abu Hena Mostafa Jamal, a professor in the Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Department at Islamic University and an executive committee member of GNOBB. He delivered a presentation on biotechnology and its applications. The chief guest, Dr. Md. Rezaul Islam, a professor from the same department, emphasized the importance of science in daily life, stating, "No matter what you pursue in life, understanding science is essential. From the moment you wake up to when you go to sleep, science is deeply embedded in our daily lives." The special guest, Professor Dr. Mohammad Minnatul Karim, encouraged students not only to focus on science but also on personal and ethical development. The event was hosted by Abu Reza, the Chair of the NYBB Islamic University Chapter.More than 500 students took part in the event.
