Professor Haseena Khan has taken over as the new Chairman of the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Dhaka University. She is is a Ph.D in Molecular Biology from  University of Sussex,  England.  She has succeeded Prof. Dr. Dr. K. B. M. Mamun Rashid. She is a well-known research scholar who initiated Jute Genome

Project in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Maqsudul Alam. She is active in her field of research with a number of Ph.D. students. Dr. Samiul Haque Senior Scientific Officer, Bangladesh Jute Res. Institute (BJRI) now actively associated with Jute Genomic Project did his Ph.D. under her guidance.
